“Sultans of swing” – tidenes 20.beste gitarsolo?

In 1978, when England was consumed with punk and new wave, Dire Straits took a different path. A little bit J.J. Cale and a little bit pub rock, they came up with an immediately distinctive sound. Mark Knopfler, as songwriter, played a major role in pushing the band to the top, but it was his deceptively simple finger-picked guitar work that was so mesmerizing to a rock audience unfamiliar with Knopfler’s musical roots. No metal power chords for Knopfler. No rapid fire licks, just mellow, spacey finger-picked runs along with tasty chord progressions that push this classic from the band’s debut album to its roaring climax.
